19TH C. BURMESE IVORY HANDLED WALKING STICK

Rather out of the ordinary for the things we buy, but we were in a textile store in northern Thailand, and this was sitting in the corner - an old colonial era walking stick.  As our friends know, I am a sucker for great patina, and this stick really has it.  The wood has a great glow, and the ivory handle feels just wonderful in the hand, as well as having a fabulous burnished cream color and raku like crackling.  See second photo below.  If you use a walking stick, or are a collector, or just want one for your umbrella stand, this is the one.  $125
